The Last Laugh Theatre Restaurant & Zoo
Iconic poster for The Last Laugh Theatre Restaurant & Zoo
The Arts Centre
Melbourne International Comedy Festival
The poster was designed by Laurel Olszewski in 1976 for the opening of The Last Laugh Theatre Restaurant, a Melbourne comedy cabaret venue, owned by John Pinder in partnership with Roger Evans.
The signature of the artist, Laurel Olszewski, appears in the border along the lower right edge, with an acknowledgement of the original poster for the French theatre company, Le Grand Magic Circus, upon which this work was loosely based: "(Merci Beaucoups Le Grand Magic Circus pour l'espoir)".
At the foot of the poster are the words; "John Pinder & Roger Evans are having the last laugh at 64 Smith Street Collingwood"
